Travelling Outside of Canada
Since the Niagara region borders the United States our residents tend to cross the border more often than in some other areas of Canada. Use this section to link to Passport Canada and other government sites for information on customs and border services.
International Bridges & Wait Times
Niagara has three bridges to the U.S. border: Queenston- Lewiston Bridge (Queenston ON-Lewiston NY), the Rainbow Bridge (Niagara Falls ON-Niagara Falls NY), and the Peace Bridge (Fort Erie ON-Buffalo NY). Take a moment now and save time in the long run by checking
wait times at the international bridges. Wait times are revised hourly.
New passport requirements for travel to U.S. As of January 23, 2007 Canadians will require passports to enter the U.S. when travelling by air or sea. This requirement is extended to land border crossings by January 1, 2008.
